Our Busy December 2008

As most of you know December is a super busy month for everyone, but especially us as Isabelle's birthday is 2 days before Christmas. Here are some pictures from her big day and Christmas.

It is safe to say that the first 6 weeks of a new baby is rough, but if you survive it is so wonderful. We are finally getting the hang off breast feeding with only a few minor hiccups which I am glad to say I have a great support from my bff who is struggling with the same issues.  

This week I have finally found my stride. I am able to workout, which is much needed both for sanity and for my physique and shower. I have successfully shopped for groceries and ran errands. Eve is smiling and I must say she is a little smiling bug. It is sooo awesome. Isabelle is a great "little mommy" she tries to nurser both her dolls and her sister. She also loves to read and sing to Eve.  Most day we watch "My Friends Tigger and Pooh,"

 (I did not envision tv as part of our day, but parenting is a humbling experience), do a project or two, take a much needed nap and eagerly await the return of Daddy. I am trying to start a program with Isabelle that will be around bible stories. 

Parenting two kids has caused me to eat a big slice of humble pie. My daughter watches more tv then I'd like which I used to judge people on. I have to call in for reinforcements more then I would have liked, but it has really been great now that I have given in to that. I used to be a militant breast feeder, but God has really showed me how it could be for people who choose to quit. I also have had to trust God so much. Eve has already been to the hospital for a head x-ray because Issy loves her so much she pulled her off the couch. One thing I can trust in is that I am not in control but I serve an awesome God who is.

Welcome Genevieve Claire

Our Update:

Genevieve Claire is here. She was born October 28, 2008 at 3:40 am. My water broke at 1:00 am and she was here in a hurry. She weighed 7lbs 5 oz and was 20 in long. 

It is so funny to see how similar yet different the two girls are. Isabelle seems to be adjusting well. She loves to kiss her and pull on her legs, which Eve is not too sure about. Now that we are 3 weeks out I think I am doing better and settling into more of a routine. I think my postpartum bout was worse this time as nursing has been a bit of a nightmare, Eve has been struggling with Jaundice and Isabelle is in an awesome phase right now which sometimes leaves you thinking you are starting over. I tend to want to go, go, go and nursing a newborn makes you slow down, but I think that is God's plan to slow down because if I did not HAVE to slow down I probably would not take the time and I would miss out. 

Lately I have been taking the time to get to know Eve and spend more time with her. She loves to be swaddled and cuddled and she, like her sister is very sure of what she wants. It is funny to see it in her at only 3 weeks. 

Jason and I are doing well. We are adjusting. I am loving the fact that even though it is a time of transition that is not necessarily easy, I get to go through this time with my best friend who through this process I grow to love more each day.

Sorry to those of you I have not been able to chat with or email much. I do not have a lot of free time on my hands.

Well this summer has been a busy one. Isabelle and I tried to take on a new adventure every week, but sometimes it did not happen. It is so fun watching them grow and change.

An Update: (I have know clue why it is underlining) We are currently 34 1/2 weeks pregnant. She is moving all over the place and Isabelle is getting more and more interested in the new baby and all her stuff. We will keep everyone updated on the baby news. Please pray for a safe and healthy delivery for both of us. 

The Joys of Potty Training

Who Doesn't Love the Potty and a Good Book?

To those of you who don't know we are working on potty training with Isabelle. She was the one who showed interest and I am running with it. I have a pretty relaxed approach to it. One of the best things about potty training is that it is built in with it's own comic relief. Since we have started we have had good days and bad, but all of them funny. She is a sneaky kiddo (just being honest) and likes to hide when she is being naughty and when she has taken off her diaper and pooped or peed on the floor. She loves a poop and a good book as you will see in the pictures that follow. We (I am using that term loosely as I have not) have eaten poop, peed on our hands because of pure curiosity and we love to watch ourself pee and see the surprised look on mommy's face when she notices that the diaper is MIA and I am naked running through the yard. Oh boy...what fun! Well that is an update on Issy.

For those of you that don't live here in CO, it has been super hot. I think it is the 20th straight day of over 90 temps. The other day it was 104. On these hot days I tend to be out of ideas of things to do, but Isabelle keeps me busy anyways. Right now we are going through potty training. I know she is young but she is interested. The only problem with this is that if she doesn't have a pair of bottoms over her diaper she takes it off and goes potty right there. She is super funny with this whole process. She is also in the phase of hiding and being sneaky. If she is quiet and shut a door with you on the outside she is probably doing something she shouldn't be like eating crayons, peeing on the floor or tearing things apart. I find myself laughing at so much that she does and thanking God for her and my family each day even more then before. 

Camping and Fishing

Over the 4th of July we went on a little camping and guest ranch stay. It was really nice to be in the mountains. Isabelle loved every minute of it and did not want to stop for a second. We realized while on this trip a couple of things though. First, our car is a tight fit for soon to be 2 kids, 1 dog, 2 adults and our gear. Jason got a neat float tube, but if we bring it someone will have to stay home :) Second, camping is a lot harder with a toddler. In spite of all that we had a great time as a family and Jason and I even got a chance to get out and spend time together fishing and hunting mountain lions (not literally, but in my mind I figured that they were around ever turn).
